New Hope was founded in 1980. The initial meeting consisted of just 38 people. Ralph Diehl served as Interim Senior Pastor until Jan. 11, 1981, when he was unanimously selected at permanent Senior Pastor by the Charter Membership. Since that time, Pastor Diehl has continued to lead New Hope through his steady leadership. In late 1996, New Hope relocated to the current location. In 2001, the church was expanded to include a much larger office complex, a large multipurpose room and nine additional classrooms. In Jan. 2005, Pastor Diehl challenged the congregation to reduce the then-$139,000 church mortgage to $100,000 by June 26, 2005. The people of New Hope rallied, easily surpassing the goal. In June 2007, the mortgage was officially burned, leaving New Hope with no outstanding debt. Today, New Hope is a member of Calvary Ministries International and the National Association of Evangelicals. |
